Southgate Adelaide Cricket Club was founded in 1870 and we have played at The Walker Ground in North London since that date.
In recognition of our work with young cricketers and our work in the community we have over the winter been accredited by ECB and Sport England with 'Clubmark' status and have been designated as a 'Focus' club. This is something the club are proud of as we are only the 2nd club in the area to achieve this.
The 2008 season is now over, so how did we do. The 1st XI finished 5th just 8 points off promotion. The 2nd's had a good season finishing in the top half. Injuries and holidays cost both sides throughout the season, hopefully 2009 both sides can give promotion a big push. The 3's avoided relegation, with a side made up with mostly colts under 15. They have all gained some experience this year, 2009 should be a lot better.
In 2005 our 2nd XI won promotion to Division 7 and in 2004 our 3rd XI won Division 12 and were unlucky not to be promoted again in 2005.
Our website will give you an insight into Southgate Adelaide Cricket Club including details of membership, fixtures, social events, and other news, as well as links to other interesting websites. We currently run 3 Saturday sides playing in the Hertfordshire Cricket League on a saturday and 2 friendly sides on a Sunday. We also have friendly matches for our Bank Holiday XI as well as our Veterans XI.
At Colts level we run sides at Under 8/9, Under 10, Under 11, Under 13 and Under 15 levels. We are probably one of the most successful Colts clubs in the local area in the past 10 years. The main highlight being in 2003 when our under 13's won the Russell Grant County League and went on to win the Middlesex Championship knock out Cup.
We look forward to a successful season and seeing you in 2008.
